Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
Please explain increases and decreases in personal services, current expenses, repairs and alterations, assets, other costs and revenues, including assumptions and data sources and delineation between start-up and ongoing costs. Please also include a long-range schedule of costs and revenues if fiscal impact is expected to vary in future years.
This new program for the West Virginia Volunteer State Guard will require $3 million for all costs associated with start-up and ongoing annual costs. Volunteers will need to attend training at various time throughout the year. Instructors will need to be obtained to provide some of the training to the volunteers. We will also need to procure equipment and uniforms for the volunteers. A new state employee will be needed to manage the Program and there will be additional administrative costs for processing additional transaction in the State Finance system Oasis.
