Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.


The purpose of this bill is to provide a two percent pay increase for employees of the Department of Health and Human Resources whose annual salaries are less than $50,000 per year. The Department estimates the cost for this bill to be $3,040,223, comprised of $2,022,283 state funding and $1,017,940 of special or federal funding.

Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):


The above costs were derived by applying a 2% increase to those individuals within the Department making less than $50,000 base salary (excluding annual increment). Additionally, some of the federal funding streams are capped thereby causing a shift for this increase to state funding in some instances.
