Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The bill creates an additional circuit judge position in the 19th Judicial Circuit. Each circuit judge position entails additional staff; accordingly, for the purposes of this fiscal note, we include the costs of the additional staff that will necessarily accompany a new circuit judge.
In sum, the cost of the bill may be determined as follows:
Circuit Judge Salary and Benefits: $160,303
Secretary Salary and Benefits (minimum classification): $54,969.23
Law Clerk Salary and Benefits: $75,219.09
Court Reporter Salary and Benefits: $59,873.49
Total Salary and Benefits Cost per year: $350,364.81
Additional costs in the form of legal research access, annual professional education, office equipment and supplies would also be applicable.
