Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.

The amendment adopted by the House Government Organization Committee grants an exemption to constitutional officers from all services currently provided by the Information Services and Communications Division that will be assumed by the Office of Technology. The amendment will have a minimal impact, if any. The amendment may lead to increased efficiencies by the agency due to no longer providing services to constitutional officers.

Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):

The proposed legislation results in cost savings of $120,000 for the salary and benefits of the Director of IS&C position and $694,976 in reduced appropriated special revenue spending authority, because of the combining of IS&C and OT budget. The amendment adopted by the House Government Organization Committee will have little to no impact on the budget of the agency, and will likely result in increased efficiencies of the agency.
