Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
The estimated costs provided by the public colleges and universities include expenditures for additional police officers, security guards and other staff, protective gear, weapons, metal detectors, vehicles, body cams, lockers, security cameras, door locks, emergency dispatch space and equipment, and training. Some institutions also anticipate a decrease in enrollment resulting from the enactment of this legislation.
