Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.


The stated purpose of this bill is to expand the Coyote Control Program by providing for an assessment on breeding cows. The bill provides an option for owners of breeding cows not to participate in the program. The bill, as written, assesses a tax of $1.00 on each head of cattle in West Virginia. The revenue from this tax would be used to help fund the West Virginia Integrated Predation Management Program. The provisions of this bill would result in approximately $290,000 a year for the “West Virginia Integrated Predation Management Fund”. Additional administrative costs would be minimal.
