Sharon Malcolm

Delegate Malcolm Sworn In As New District 39 Delegate

CHARLESTON, W.Va. –Sharon Lewis Malcolm was sworn in as the newest member of the West Virginia House of Delegates on Friday, March 30. She was administered the oath before a gathering of family and friendsby House Speaker Tim Armstead, R-Kanawha.

Malcolm, a Republican, is a resident of Mink Shoals. She will represent House District 39, northern Kanawha County, which spans theSissonville, Mink Shoalsand Cross Lanes areas.

Delegate Malcolmis a mother, grandmother and long-time resident of Kanawha County. She formerly served as the first female Doorkeeper for the West Virginia House of Delegates, and the first female Sergeant-at-Arms for the West Virginia Senate.

“These are exciting times in which to serve the people of my District and to help move the state of West Virginia forward!I am quite humbled and honored by this opportunity to serve,” Delegate Malcolm said. 

Delegate Malcolm, R-Kanawha, was recently appointed by Gov. Jim Justice to complete the unexpired term of former Delegate Ron Walters, R-Kanawha, who resigned.
