Delegate Hamrick Named Vice-Chairman of Committee on Government Organization

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – House Speaker Tim Armstead, R-Kanawha, has appointed Delegate Danny Hamrick, R-Harrison, to serve as Vice-Chairman of the House of Delegates’ Committee on Government Organization.

Hamrick succeeds former committee Vice-Chairwoman Lynne Arvon, R-Raleigh, who was appointed Tuesday to the state Senate.

The Committee on Government Organization is responsible for reviewing legislation dealing with the structure and functions of the various departments of state government.

“I’m humbled and honored with this new opportunity and in Speaker Armstead’s confidence in me to serve in this new role,” Delegate Hamrick said. “I look forward to continuing my fight for a leaner, more accountable state government as vice-chairman of this committee.”

A Clarksburg native, Hamrick was first elected to the House in 2012. In addition to his new role, he also serves as Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Interstate Cooperation and Chairman of the Joint Committee on Infrastructure. He resides in Lost Creek with his wife Brittany.
