Delegate Margaret Staggers Demands Action for Road Construction Project

Charleston, WV- Recently in Oak Hill a new, consolidated, high school has been built. There is a project for Halstead Avenue which provides alternate access to the school site. This avenue is a dead end street and would allow better access to the school once it is renovated. It is the intent of the district of highways office to have this project completed by the fall and beginning of the school year.

"I am very concerned about the completion rate of the road. This will no doubt create massive congestion in Oak Hill when the brand new school opens in August. The district office has not yet submitted their contract for bids," said Staggers. "There has to be more pressure and concern to get this done. Residents of Oak Hill can only imagine the disaster on the first day of school with only one access route. We need the district office to begin construction as soon as possible to alleviate this problem quickly and to better serve the residents of Oak Hill."
