CHARLESTON, WEST VIRGINIA - House Minority Leader Tim Armstead announced that newly-appointed Delegate Anna Border (R-Wood) has been appointed by Speaker Rick Thompson to serve as a member of the Committee on Government Organization, the Committee on Health and Human Resource and the Committee on Agriculture for the 80th Legislature. Delegate Border was recently appointed to represent the citizens of the 9th District, filling the vacancy resulting from the death of her husband, Delegate Larry Border.
Minority Leader Armstead said of the appointment, “Anna Border brings to the legislature innovative leadership, tremendous dedication and a sincere desire to improve the lives of the people of the 9th Delegate District. As a member of the vital Government Organization Committee, Delegate Border will work hard to ensure that all of our state agencies and programs serve our citizens each day in an efficient and effective manner.”
“Anna worked closely with her husband, the late Delegate Larry Border, during his service as a member of the House of Delegates for more than twenty years. She recognizes the challenges that face the citizens of our state and she understands the needs of the people of the 9th Delegate District. I know she will do a tremendous job as their delegate” Armstead said.
