CHARLESTON, WV - Senator Orphy Klempa (D - Ohio) says he is pleased that the senate passed SB 222 because it provides more protection for victims of domestic violence. SB 222 makes it a criminal offense for interfering with an emergency call. Senator Klempa says domestic violence is becoming more prevalent and this bill adds more protection by allowing law enforcement to move forward with charges, even if the victim can’t or won’t make a statement.
