Senator Jack Yost

Senator Yost Awarded Prestigious 2012 Henry Toll Fellowship

Charleston, WV – Senator Jack Yost (D – Brooke) announced today he was selected for and participated in the prestigious Toll Fellowship Program sponsored by the Council of State Governments (CSG). The Henry Toll Fellowship Program is one of the nation’s premier leadership development programs for state government officials and the most widely recognized one serving all three branches.

“My experience in the Toll Fellows program has provided me insights and perspectives not readily available in the course of everyday public service,” said Senator Yost. “Having the ability to interact and learn alongside fellow dedicated public servants from around the country has provided me with a wonderful opportunity to pass on the knowledge I’ve gained here in West Virginia.”

The annual week-long seminar, named in honor of Henry Toll, a Colorado senator who founded CSG in 1933, seeks to empower leaders from all three branches of state government.

The CSG Toll Fellows program brings individual state leaders together in a way that no other program can. It provides for an inspiring week of introspection, group dynamics and adaptive leadership training. It is designed to help state officials learn more about themselves as leaders, how teams function, how to communicate more effectively and how to reignite their passion to govern.

“I look forward to the 2013 Regular Session and utilizing some of the lessons on governing I learned through this intensive, intellectual learning experience to better prepare our state for economic growth and stability, ” said Senator Yost.
