Senator John Pat Fanning , Committee Co-Chair and Delegate Clif Moore and the Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Subcommittee are pleased to announce a bill to authorize the National Coal Heritage Area Authority to assist in the historical, cultural, recreational and economic development of Coalwood Way and related sites in the Big Creek District of McDowell County.
“I think this will continue to make West Virginia a beautiful and developing state. With this development, more of rural WV can continue to grow and be used for recreation and public use,” stated Senator Fanning.
The authority shall appoint a ten member advisory committee to study and make recommendations to the authority regarding development projects. The bill will be presented to the House of Delegates and State Senate.
“I am pleased to sponsor this bill. McDowell County needs help and we are looking forward to seeing results,” said Delegate Moore.
