CHARLESTON, WV - On behalf of the West Virginia Senate, I send my sincerest condolences to the family of Bill Stewart. Coach Stewart was devoted husband and father, a tremendous teacher and coach and a loyal friend of all Mountaineers. His sudden passing leaves me and those who knew him saddened beyond words. This is a terrible loss to all in Mountaineer Nation. Coach Stewart never forgot his hometown roots. He was a beloved son of New Martinsville, Wetzel County and West Virginia.
His "Stew-ardship" of our young men against all odds on a hot desert night in Tempe will be remembered fondly and forever in Mountaineer lore. Bill was simply a "good man." Our prayers go out to Karen, Blaine and the entire Stewart family. We will keep them in our thoughts and prayers.
