A BILL to amend and reenact §17B-3-8 of the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, relating to suspension of driver's license; and reducing term of suspension to no more than six months, except for serious traffic offenses.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:

That §17B-3-8 of the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended and reenacted to read as follows:

ARTICLE 3. CANCELLATION, SUSPENSION OR REVOCATION OF LICENSES.

§17B-3-8. Suspension for more than one year.

The department shall may not suspend a driver's license or privilege to drive a motor vehicle on the public highways for a period of more than one year six months, except as provided in chapter seventeen-c of this code.



NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to
reduce the term of suspension of driver's license to no more than six months, except for serious traffic offenses and driving under the influence.
