Senate Resolution No. 49

Congratulating the West Virginia University Rifle Team on winning
the 2009 national NCAA championship.
Whereas, The West Virginia University Rifle Team participated
in the national NCAA Championship competition in Forth Worth,
Texas, in 2009; and
Whereas, The West Virginia University Rifle Team won its 14th
national championship, shooting a staggering 2353 score, with an
overall aggregate score of 4643; and
Whereas, During the competition, seven Mountaineers were named
NRA All-Americans and their coach, Jon Hammond, was named "Coach of
the Year" by the College Rifle Association; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby congratulates the West Virginia
University Rifle Team on winning the 2009 national NCAA
championship; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Senate congratulates West Virginia
University Rifle Team Coach Jon Hammond for his selection as "Coach
of the Year"; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward
a copy of this resolution to West Virginia University Rifle Team
Coach Jon Hammond.
