SHORT TITLE: Education Accountability Amendment

CODE REFERENCE: Amends West Virginia Constitution Article XII Section 2

PROPOSED LAW PRESENTED TO THE COMMITTEE: The purpose of the strike and insert amendment is to require that the State Department of Education’s rules and policies are subject to legislative oversight and subject to review for approval, amendment, or rejection. 

The proposed amendment would be on the 2022 general election ballot.

COMMENTS: The strike and insert amendment by the Committee on the Judiciary did not affect the substance of the resolution.

COMMITTEE ACTION: The Committee adopted the Committee on the Judiciary’s strike and insert amendment without further amendment.
