Senator Grady moved to amend the bill on page fourteen, section six, after line eighty, by adding thereto a new subsection, designated subsection (m), to read as follows:

(m) If a county board denies a charter school application and 25 percent of voters within the district sign a petition to hold a referendum on whether the charter school should be authorized, the board shall call for a referendum at the next primary or general election as to whether the school should be authorized. If more than half of the voters vote to authorize the charter school, the county board shall approve the application.
