Senator Trump moved to amend the amendment on page 1, section 2, by striking out all of subsection (a) and inserting in lieu thereof a new subsection (a), to read as follows:

“(a) A student’s absence due to a student’s pregnancy or parenting needs is an excused absence as provided under this section, and for purposes of §18-4-8 of this code.”;

On page 1, section 2, line 3, by striking out the words “Each county board” and inserting in lieu thereof the words “The State Board of Education”;

And,

On page 2, section 2, line 19, by striking the words “ensure that the parent remains” and inserting in lieu thereof the words “make reasonable efforts to encourage the parent remain”.
