The Committee on Education moved to amend the bill by striking out the title and substituting therefor a new title, to read as follows:
A BILL to amend and reenact §18-2E-5 of the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, relating generally to the statewide student growth assessment program; requiring the program to be composed of benchmark assessments to be given in the first 30 days of the school year, mid-year, and a summative assessment at the end of the school year to determine student progression in reading and mathematics in grades three through eight; and removing obsolete language.
