SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 7

Amending Joint Rules of the Senate and House of Delegates.

Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:

That the joint rules of the Senate and House of Delegates be amended by adding thereto a new rule 31, to read as follows:

Naming Resolutions

31. Naming resolutions are limited to the naming of roads and bridges.

Annually, by December 15 for the following regular legislative session, legislators shall submit all applications for the naming of roads and/or bridges to Legislative Services and the Division of Highways. By January 15, the Division of Highways shall provide infrastructure availability and location information to Legislative Services for all applications that were timely submitted. Legislative Services shall provide a proposed naming resolution to each legislator applicant.

Naming resolutions must be introduced by the twenty-fifth day of the regular legislative session. Legislative action on naming resolutions must be completed by the fiftieth day of the legislative session.
