The primary cost of the bill is in the salary of the proposed magistrates and their assistants. These salaries are set by statute, and those salaries and cost of benefits (estimated) are as follows:
1 magistrate salary = $57,500
1 magistrate benefits = $20,705
Total = $78,205
$78,205 x 2 magistrates = $156,410
1 mag asst salary = $39,852
1 mag asst benefits = $17,202
Total = $57,054
$57,054 x 2 mag assts = $114,108
Total cost of bill's salaries and benefits per year = $270,518
