This piece of legislation provides for a $432 increase to all ranks of the WV State Trooper salary scale established by code effective July 1, 2018 Effective July 1, 2019, the schedule for these ranks would increase an additional $432

Estimates are calculated based on the existing 646 funded State Trooper positions and include both the increase to salaries and benefits. The above estimates do not include the increase in costs (Approximately $30,444 for FY2019, $60,888 for FY2020) for the projected 60 person cadet class included in the Governor's proposed budget (General Revenue Fund 0453-52100). This fiscal note also excludes the civilian employees of the West Virginia State Police whose salaries are not set by code.
