Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
We were unable to identify any municipalities in West Virginia who currently require an Occupational License in order to do business in the municipality which are in any way similar to the regulatory procedures employed by the State of West Virginia with respect to various professions. However, numerous municipalities do require a Business License, the fee structure of which can vary from activity to activity depending on the nature of the business services rendered. Accordingly, we have assessed the proposed Bill as having no financial impacts on local government finances.
Memorandum
We have no additional comments with regard to this proposed legislation.
