Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to authorize taxation of prescription opioids.
As collections of the proposed tax are administered by the Department of Revenue, any expenditures from the newly created Addiction and Neonatal Addiction Care Fund would be based on the level of revenues received. Therefore, the Department estimates no fiscal impact relating to this bill.
