SB404 would require a fee of $2,500 for each horizontal well permit modification. DEP estimates that it will receive approximately 200 requests annually for permit modifications, increasing revenue to DEP by $500,000. DEP does not expect this new requirement to increase expenditures.

Please explain increases and decreases in personal services, current expenses, repairs and alterations, assets, other costs and revenues, including assumptions and data sources and delineation between start-up and ongoing costs. DEP is expected to receive approximately 200 requests for permit modifications annually. At $2,500 per request, this will generate $500,000 annually. As previously stated, there is not expected to be any significant increase in expenditures in implementing this new fee.
