This piece of proposed legislation provides for a $2,300 per person pay increase for sworn members of the West Virginia State Police and those Civilian Forensic Lab Personnel whose salaries are codified. The remaining civilian membership of the West Virginia State Police are not addressed in this fiscal note. The total fiscal impact for this legislation is $2,228,260.

The above estimate represents a $2,300 pay increase for sworn members and certain forensic lab employees whose salaries are established in code. The retirement contributions were calculated at 34% for Uniformed members and 9% for the civilian laboratory employees. Breakdown by fund/Appropriation is as follows:

There is an $18 transposition error on page 3 under Administration Support Specialist Classification VI. A $2,300 increase to the current salary should be $67,542 instead of $67,524.
