According to statistics available through the federal Department of Veterans Affairs, West Virginia is home to 9,933 veterans who are 100% disabled. An additional 4,352 would become eligible, as this bill is written. The Department of Veterans Assistance does not have the access to the property assessment information necessary to calculate these values.

Without the assessments of eligible property, and the cost of any taxes currently charged, the Department is unable to calculate a total. However, the State Tax Department may be able to provide an accurate calculation.
