This piece of proposed legislation provides for a $3,000 per person pay increase for sworn members of the West Virginia State Police. The total fiscal impact for this legislation for FY 2026 is $2,443,820 and an impact of $2,701,711 when the State Police is fully staffed.

The above estimate represents a $3,000 pay increase for sworn members whose salaries are established in code. Calculations for 597 uniformed members include 45 cadets scheduled to begin employment on March 24, 2025. Breakdown by fund/Appropriation for FY2026 is as follows:
