Fiscal Note Summary

Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.

The purpose of this bill is to reduce the number of applicants of a military organization for a special plate from 100 to 50, upon receipt of a guarantee from the organization of a minimum of 50 applicants. Expenses to implement the issuance of a new plate will consist of cash register programming of $1,875 (15 hours x $125 per hour). In addition, registration plates will cost the Division $7.25 per plate. If 50 new plates are issued, plate cost will be $362.50 ( $7.25 plate charge X 50 plates) In the first year reduced revenue of $3,075 (50 X $61.50 second plate charge) would be generated. The Division estimates this bill might allow more new plates to be issued since the guarantee number of applicants is being lowered.
