Additionally, the Division would be required to publicize the road abandonment in the affected county/counties local newspaper.

Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):


The Division would have costs associated with first-class mailings and publications in the county/counties newspaper(s) where the Division wants to abandon a road. Although the amount of roads abandoned is variable, the Division has averaged 7 abandoned roads in the past 4 years. Therefore, the Division estimates this it would cost approximately $3,500 to publicize approximately 7 abandoned roads per year with a Class I publication ranging from $250-$500.
