Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
This legislation authorizes a child sexual abuse and sexual violence prevention program and in-service training in child sexual abuse prevention.
In its current form, this legislation does not have any fiscal impact on the West Virginia Board of Education or the West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE). Although it will require modifications by WVDE staff to the current WVDE Body Safety Toolkit resource provided at no cost to county school districts and educators, the requirements of this proposed bill are covered by existing language in the WVDE Wellness Education Standards (WVBE Policy 2520.5). Any necessary modifications to the Body Safety Toolkit fall within the scope of work of existing WVDE staff and would have no additional fiscal implications.
