Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The stated purpose of this bill is to remove sales tax from being included in the electronic payment surcharge computation and creating a civil penalty.
There would be no impact on the State’s costs or revenues.
The bill would reduce interchange fees credit card companies can charge to process payments. Credit card companies would no longer be able to include West Virginia Consumers Sales Tax in the calculation of their processing fees.
