Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The bill transfers the Municipal Bond Commission currently under the authority of the Department of Revenue, under the purview of the State Treasurer’s Office. The bill specifies that the State Treasurer’s Office will provide staffing, office space, and administrative duties necessary to support the Municipal Bond Commission. Additionally, it permits the commission to utilize any contract or agreement of the Treasurer’s Office, the West Virginia Investment Management Board, or the West Virginia Board of Treasury Investments.
The Treasurer's Office has adequate office space and existing staff to support the Municipal Bond Commission and would not require any additional funding.
