Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
This legislation, in its current form, will require the West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE) to host two separate training days each year (one in the fall and one in the spring) for certified teachers. Each training day will have a capacity for 100 teachers to attend in-person. The event planning for the training will require the rental of a facility and food for participants.

This legislation will require $10,000 each year to implement at the West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE). This cost includes rental of training rooms and food for participants.
Memorandum
The bill does not specify how often the trainings should be made available to teachers or what is required to be provided as documentation of their completion of the training. Additionally, we consider Social Studies teachers to be core content instructors just as ELA, Math, and Science.
