Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.


The purpose of this bill is to require the Division of Motor Vehicles to provide certain identification documents to homeless individuals who are U.S. Citizens, residing at homeless shelters within this state, at no cost. The Department does not issue the documentation listed in the bill; therefore anticipates no fiscal impact from this legislation as written.

Memorandum


State photo identification cards and replacement Driver's licenses are issued through the Division of Motor Vehicles. Replacement birth certificates are issued through the Department of Health's Vital Registration Office.
