Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to create the Michael Brandon Cochran Act; provide definitions; require certain medical testing of ICU patients; establish a monetary penalty; and create a grant program and fund.
This legislation has no fiscal impact on the Department as the burden for performing the testing is on the hospitals and the Department of Health Facilities is responsible for administering the grant program.
