Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to increase the registration fees for alternative fuel vehicles.
The Division would incur programming costs of $7,500 to reprogram the cash register system ($125 per hour x 60 hours).
The bill increases the alternative fuel registration fees by the following amounts:
Fuel Type Amount increased
Hydrogen/Natural gas $200
Electricity/ Petrochemical Fuel (hybrid)$100
Electricity $200
There are currently 129 Hydrogen/Natural gas vehicles, 39,534 hybrid vehicles, and 6,002 electric vehicles registered with the Division. These increased fees would result in increased revenue of $5,179,600 ($25,800 + $3,953,400 + $1,200,400).
