Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to provide that a person convicted of driving under the influence may be designated as an interdicted person and is prohibited from purchasing alcohol for a certain time period.
The division anticipates that approximately 850 citizens will be required to obtain an interdicted license or identification card. This will generate additional fee revenue of $42,500($50 fee X 850) and duplicate fee revenue of $3,750($30 X 125).
In the year of implementation the expenses will include the design, setup, and integration of the Interdicted ‘No Alcohol Sale’ Driver’s License and ID card into the current driver licensing system at $50,000, programing the cash register to accept the payments $17,500(140 hours X $125), card cost $6,375(850 cards X $7.50), employee training $5,000, and training materials $1,000.
The ongoing expenses for this bill will consist of the card cost fee at $6,375(850 cards X $7.50).
