Memorandum
House Bill 5472, if enacted, extends benefits and recognition applicable to emergency responders to mine rescue personnel.
Workers' compensation premiums in the private and residual market may be affected due to expanded coverage for post traumatic stress disorder to mine rescuers, but any such effects would be minimal due to utilization and volume of mine rescue teams.
HB5472 would have no fiscal or operational impact on the WV Offices of the Insurance Commissioner.
