Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to take 50 cents from every vehicle registration sold, or renewed, or both, in West Virginia and use that money to fund the Deputy Sheriff's Retirement Fund.
The Division estimates it will take 72 hours of programming on the cash register system at a rate of $125 per hour. Total current expense of $9,000 (72 hrs. X $125/hr.)
The Division estimates that there are approximately 2,150,000 registrations processed annually. This would lead to a $1,075,000 (2,150,000 X $0.50) reduction of revenue.
