Fiscal Note Summary

Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.

The purpose of this bill is to waive the one-time $10 fee for a Veterans license plate to any first-time applicants who have an Honorable Discharge from any branch of the armed services. The Division estimates it will take 72 hours of programming on the cash register system at a rate of $125 per hour. Total current expense of $9,000 (72 hrs. X $125/hr.) The Division estimates that there are approximately 1,900 applications for military plates for honorably discharged per year. This would lead to a $19,000 (1,900 X $10) reduction of revenue.
