Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to expand prohibitions on distracted driving of motorists utilizing a wireless communication device or stand-alone electronic device.
The legislation requires the addition of two new revocation codes to the Division’s mainframe program. The Division estimates this will require 80 hours of programming time at a rate of $90 per hour for a total expense of $7,200 (80hrs x $90 per hour).
The Division is not able to estimate the potential revenue to be generated because there are no statistics to support an estimate.
