Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.


The purpose of this bill is to provide health insurance coverage for scalp cooling systems for the preservation of hair during cancer chemotherapy treatment. This bill will increase the claim costs of PEIA. Using Medicare reimbursement allowances for these services and current chemotherapy treatment utilization, PEIA estimates an increase in cost of $3.3 million.
