Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
There is no cost to the State, but counties will incur an unknown cost to comply. West Virginia has 298 middle and secondary schools. At present, the WVSSAC has purchased and placed 191 AEDs. The WVSSAC price per AED unit is $725. Replacement parts at periodic intervals total $250 per AED. Pursuant to W. Va. 127CSR2ยง15, schools must have a plan for AED use. If each school purchased one new AED, the minimum cost would be $216,050.00
