Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.


Summarize in a clear and concise manner what impact this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government. This proposed legislation creates a statutory fee for the modification of permits issued by DEP's Office of Oil and Gas. Each approved modification will be issued at a cost of $2,500.00. It is anticipated that approximately 250 modifications will be completed each year. There are no expected additional costs to the agency in implementing this new fee.

Please explain increases and decreases in personal services, current expenses, repairs and alterations, assets, other costs and revenues, including assumptions and data sources and delineation between start-up and ongoing costs. Please also include a long-range schedule of costs and revenues if fiscal impact is expected to vary in future years. There are no expected increases to expenses in implementing this fee. The revenues are calculated by multiplying approximately 250 modifications by the $2,500 modification fee. Revenues of $103,750 for FY2020 were calculated based on receiving fees during the last two months of the fiscal year. All future years are expected to receive approximately $625,000 per year.
