Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):

Please explain increases and decreases in personal services, current expenses, repairs and alterations, assets, other costs and revenues, including assumptions and data sources and delineation between start-up and ongoing costs. Please also include a long-range schedule of costs and revenues if fiscal impact is expected to vary in future years. It is impossible to predict the exact cost associated with this bill due to the varied circumstances which dictate when and how many troopers which may be on call. To provide some reasonable estimate of the expected cost, we have applied the number of detachments without 24- hour coverage (54) to the estimated hours per day (6) they are generally unstaffed. Again, based upon circumstances which change from week to week and day to day, the number of unstaffed detachments for any portion of a day may vary and the number of hours they may be unstaffed can vary greatly. Additionally, data is not readily available to determine how many hours officers are required to appear in court on their day off.
