Fiscal Note Summary

Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.

This bill would have a negative fiscal impact on both the DCR General Revenue Fund and the Jails Special Revenue Fund. We estimate that it would reduce revenue in jails by approximately $30,000 and the revenue for the general fund by approximately $75,000. Both of those estimates are based off of co-pay collections the year before the pandemic (co-pays have been suspended during the pandemic in accordance with DCR policy).
