Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to create the Office of Quality Assurance and Evaluation within the Department of Health and Human Resources in order to evaluate the child welfare system and services provided to children with serious emotional disorders and to continuously promote the improvement of the child welfare system.
The Department anticipates no fiscal impact relating to this legislation as the majority of the items indicated in the bill are currently being performed with the Department's Bureau for Children and Families, and therefore the staff and duties would remain, but within the Office of the Secretary.
