Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):


At no cost to the state, a committee needs to be comprised of teachers, higher education professionals, and other experts for at least two face-to-face meetings in June to develop and define the content standards for a half-credit personal finance course. Currently our high school civics course content standards include personal finance objectives that comprise approximately 25% of the course content.



Memorandum


This change will increase graduation requirements for students and possibly limit choices for electives and CTE programs.
